Marcos Paulo Leaves For Familição On Loan

+

Reportedly an unwanted transfer from Atleti manager Diego Simeone, Brazilian phenom Marcos Paulo will pack his bags and head to Portuguese club Famalicao for the rest of the 21/22 season. The former Fluminense star was touted to stay at Madrid for the rest of the season, but his muscle injury complicated things. His only appearance in a red-and-white jersey was against Numancia on July 23. It isn't likely that Paulo will become an important piece of the Atleti offense. He could be sold to another side for a profit. However, if he doesn't turn heads at Portugal, it's safe to say that he will not be staying at Madrid for a long time after the end of his loan.

Atleti Stop Pursuing Dusan Vlahovic, Start Tracking Matheus Cunha

+

After a short period of time that looked as if Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic would join Los Rojiblancos, Atleti's interest in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has waned. In place of the attacker who scored 21 goals last season, Atleti has reportedly started tracking Hertha BSC striker Matheus Cunha. The gold medalist probably favors a move to Atleti over competitors Leeds, but anything can happen. Atleti have gotten to the goal line with numerous different strikers this season, but their shot attempts have been cleared: whether it's been obnoxiously high demands, clubs playing hardball, or players not wanting to join(for some reason), Atleti still lack depth in the number 9 position. With ten more days left in the transfer window, Atleti has grown more and more desperate, as they try to make their first transfer from the Bundesliga since Mario Mandzukic arrived from the Bayern in 2014.

Ivo Grbic Close To Leaving For Lille: Backup Keeper Desperately Needed Now

+

French champions LOSC Lille have decided to make a bid for Croatian stopper Ivo Grbic. The second-string keeper wants first-team action at a club and with the Croatian national team. Grbic is set to replace Leo Jardim, who recently conceded four to middling southern side OGC Nice. Atletico Madrid will need depth in the goalie position, especially with youth product Miguel San Roman leaving for Huesca. There isn't a goalie that can backup for Oblak in the youth ranks that I know of, so Atleti will pursue a keeper aggressively in the market. Expect a signing soon around 3 million euros, as that's the amount that Grbic might go for. I accidentally predicted this in this article.

Leftback Manu Sanchez Leaves For Osasuna On Loan

+

Worth around 8 million, 20-year-old left-back Manu Sanchez has departed for Osasuna temporarily. This will be his second time leaving for Osasuna, as he left in the winter window. Sanchez has the capability of emerging into a regular starter for the LaLiga side. It doesn't seem like Sanchez is in El Cholo's plan for the future, so Atleti's only business with the capped Spanish player is making a nice profit off of his promise. Hopefully, he can do well with the Basque side.

PSV, Everton, Leverkusen Inquire About Atleti Fullback Santiago Arias

+

Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has reported that out-of-favor Atleti fullback Santiago Arias will leave Atletico. However, the question is for whom. Dutch club PSV, German club Leverkusen, and English club Everton have all asked about the Colombian, but no concrete offer has been made. The six-million-euro- rated fullback could mold into a full-fledged starter for each of the clubs. Sime Vrsaljko will now become the second-string fullback while offering versatility(he can also play as a right midfielder). Ricard Sanchez(academy player) could offer even more depth in the wingback position.

Atleti Linked With Hertha BSC Striker Matheus Cunha

+

After a Rafa Mir deal that now looks unlikely to happen and halted talks with Fiorentina and Dusan Vlahovic, Atleti is sparring with Leeds to sign Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha from Hertha BSC. The center-forward logged seven goals alongside four assists in Hertha's underwhelming season. The 32-million-rated attacker has already talked with Leeds, but nothing official has been put in place. Atleti are the favorites to sign Cunha: they offer European competition and larger wages.

Canadian Ally Of Atleti Finally Get To Play At Home

+

Atletico Ottawa, who recently was bought by Atletico Madrid, has finally gotten to play at home after 535 calendar days of bouncing from hotel to hotel. The eighth-placed team will finally be able to collect gate revenue, which will, as a result, help them improve. Hopefully, Atletico can make it to the playoffs, as they are 11 points off, with 16 games to play. It doesn't look good for them, but anything can happen.

Borja Garces Joins Leganes On Loan

+

22-year-old Borja Garces, who scored in Atleti's 2-1 win over Wolfsburg, has been loaned out to Segunda Division side CD Leganes. Garces, who's valued at around 3 million euros, recently was loaned out to CF Fuenlabrada. He scored seven goals in 22 appearances for the Madrid-based team. I, personally, was rather hopeful of him breaking through into the first team. However, it seems like Borja will have to prove himself away from Atleti.

Miguel San Roman Sold To SD Huesca

+

Third-string keeper Miguel San Roman has been sold to Segunda Division side SD Huesca for an unknown fee. Valued at around 700-800 thousand euros, San Roman, previously, was Atletico Madrid B's first-choice keeper. He was loaned out to Elche, where he featured four times for the lowly side. The 24-year-old started Atletico's loss to Cornelia. Huesca's acquisition of San Roman seems to be to provide depth between the sticks. Hopefully, he can enjoy a wonderful career there!

Diego Costa, After Sudden Atleti Departure, To Join Atletico Mineiro

+

After Costa's sudden departure, the 32-year old striker has landed a deal with Brazilian giants Atletico Mineiro. Costa reportedly refused offers from Arsenal and Tottenham during his time as a free agent. Now he will have the opportunity to win the Copa Libertadores with his native Brazil. They'll need his attacking prowess against their South American counterparts. Some of their future opponents include River Plate, Fluminese, and Gremio. Costa will be a great addition for a trophy-bound team loaded with star power. Hopefully, he can replicate his success with Atleti for Mineiro!
