Oblak

Conceded in the 39th minute to a Leandro Antonetti strike into the bottom corner. Aside from the occasional cross to claim, the keeper had little to do onward. 4

Javi Galán

The defender took advantage of a rare start, assisting Ángel Correa’s second-minute goal with an excellent cross in the penalty area. While defending, he was able to make Antoñín’s life harder with consistent pressure. 7

Söyüncü

The Turkish international was looking to erase the doubts around his recent appearances, but he now has more questions to answer about his viability to play for Atlético Madrid. Söyüncü struggled to progress the play and looked awkward with the ball, while Antonetti reduced him to rubble with cutbacks on the Lugo goal. Diego Simeone replaced the defender at halftime. 3

Giménez

A sound outing for the Uruguayan, who made two goal line clearances but will rue a positional mistake in the buildup to Lugo’s goal. 6.5

Azpilicueta

Lugo keeper Gonçalo Tabuaço cut down Azpilicueta in the 39th minute from inside his own penalty area, an incident that wasn’t spotted by referee González Fuertes and ended in the hosts’ equalizer. in a tough spot, Azpi later had to leave the pitch after picking up an apparent hamstring injury. 5

Molina

Improved as the game moved along. Did well to connect with Marcos Llorente after the speedy midfielder entered the fray. 6.5

Saúl

Aside from his pass over the top to Galán to help kickstart the move for the first goal, the Spaniard really struggled with his distribution and had multiple ball losses in compromising positions. 4.5

Witsel

Started as the pivot finished the game in central defense. Completed 93 percent of his passes, made seven recoveries and five clearances. 5.5

Riquelme

It seemed like Roro saw more time on the ground than he did with the ball at his feet. Riquelme was fouled — hard — multiple times, causing Simeone to move him from the right side of midfield to the left. He was subbed off at halftime. 4.5

Memphis

Found himself in promising areas as the team began to poke holes into the third-division side, giving him opportunities to score twice. His first, in the 66th minute, came with a ball in from Koke. Memphis turned on the ball and dribbled into the area. A fake shot and dribble opened his window to fire the ball into the back of the net. Eight minutes later, the Dutchman got to the end of a Llorente cross and hammered the ball home to ice the game. 7.5

Correa

Scored the opening goal at Tabuaço’s near post from a Galán cross. Thereafter, the Arginine was largely ineffective; his dribbles were widely halted and his more creative attempts at connecting with teammates didn’t result in chances on frame. 5.5

Subs:

Koke

Koke’s deliberate distribution found open men and brought more life into the attack. He ended the match with an assist, finding an unmarked Memphis outside the 18-yard-box. 7

De Paul

Continued his recent good form with confident ball-carrying and incisive passing (eight passes into the final third). 5

Griezmann

Roamed around the pitch to receive the ball and either dribble or connect with players out wide. Had one long shot attempt blocked. 5

Llorente

Connected with Molina out wide, creating a tandem on the flank that caused problems for Lugo. His run up the field and cross into the box in the 74th minute resulted in Memphis’ second goal. 7

Morata

Hit the crossbar and was caught offside twice. Eventful cameo. N/A
