A big, big derby win in the Metropolitano.

Oblak

Conceded a signature Toni Kroos goal from just outside the 18-yard box, where the veteran midfielder beat Marcos Llorente with a deft touch and struck the ball low into the bottom corner. Although the keeper sprawled to react to the 35th-minute goal, the crowd of defenders in front of him and the speed on the ball was too much. As the match progressed, Oblak stayed alert on corners and did well when called upon, making four saves. 5

Molina

Impactful during the team’s initial offensive push. His runs forward and connections with Antoine Griezmann brought the right flank to life. As Real Madrid tried to pile on the pressure offensively, the Argentine’s presence began to fade. Diego Simeone opted to replace him with César Azpilicueta in the second half to add fresh legs in the back. 5

Savić

Commanding in the back, influencing the team’s defensive prowess — and confidence — in more ways than one. The Montenegrin logged two interceptions, two tackles, and two blocks — the most important being a crucial deflection on a Rodrygo Goes shot on 64 minutes. 6.5

Giménez

Picked up a yellow after a sloppy slide tackle to stop Rodrygo’s push forward late in the first half. Throughout the match, Giménez succeeded in subduing the goal-happy Jude Bellingham, and he led all players with six clearances. 5.5

Hermoso

Hermoso wasn't able to take much time in possession and dish out line-breaking passes, but he didn’t skip a beat in buildup (97 percent passing accuracy) and he made five clearances despite a couple positional mistakes. He also hit the crossbar from a corner early in the second half, narrowly missing out on extending the lead to 4-1. 6

Lino

A pacy, irrepressible force down the left-hand side of the pitch. Lino wreaked havoc early in the match, frequently cutting the ball inside and looking for an early cross. He expanded the play, and his pinpoint cross to Álvaro Morata opened the scoring inside four minutes. Defensively, Lino had six tackles on the night, his presence proving a serious nuisance for Lucas Vázquez and Fede Valverde. 7.5

Koke

Slotted back into the starting 11, his first appearance for over a month. The Spaniard facilitated Atlético Madrid’s game while in possession, although he played just 45 minutes. His 95 percent pass completion rate helped to recycle the ball to switch the point of attack and find quick counters when available. 6

Llorente

Very direct, pushed forward and created two key passes. Simple but quite effective against the overmatch Fran García. 5.5

Saúl

Drifted around the pitch and pulled the offensive strings. Grabbed two assists with crosses to Griezmann (18th minute) and Morata (46th minute) respectively — the first multi-assist game of his career. Defensively, the 28-year-old tracked back to block, intercept, and harass. All-around great performance. 8

Griezmann

His presence was felt throughout the match. Griezmann’s work rate helped him get to all the second balls and create chances. In the 18th minute, Griezmann found himself unmarked in the box and rose to direct Saúl’s cross into the bottom corner with his head. 7.5

Morata

Took full advantage of the space in Real Madrid’s penalty area. His first goal came in the fourth minute, when the striker was able to get by David Alaba and thump the ball into the back of the net with a header. Just 34 seconds into the second half, Morata again got on the end of a cross, this time from Saúl, bringing the score to 3-1. 8

Witsel

Came on for Koke at the start of the second half. Kept his passing simple and looked strong at the base of midfield. 5

Azpilicueta

The former Chelsea skipper’s experience shone through. He kept the defense calm amongst the visitors’ attacks and made smart plays to lock up Rodrygo and Joselu around the penalty area. 5.5

Memphis

Replaced Morata in the 82nd minute. Had a sight of goal in stoppage time but flashed the effort wide of Kepa. 5

Correa

Tracked back to defend in the final minutes of the match. Hustled without the ball when Atlético were in possession, looking for any chance on goal. N/A

Galán

Replaced Samuel Lino late on. Made a darting run through the middle to help wind down the clock. N/A
