Oblak
Not much for the ‘keeper to do between the sticks. Real Betis attempted 14 shots but placed zero on target. 5

Azpilicueta
The veteran defender was quick to pressure the likes of Ayoze Pérez when the ball was swung out wide, and he forced multiple passes backwards while ending the match with two tackles. But he was unable to add much offensively, with the former Chelsea FC skipper a better fit in the heart of defense at this point in his career. 4.5
Savić
Ended the match with three blocked shots and two interceptions. Picked up a card for what looked like a clean tackle on Guido Rodriguez late in the first half. 6.5
Witsel
Slotted in the middle of the three center-backs, Witsel positioned himself well, often shifting to his right and containing the hosts’ attacks. 5
Hermoso
Played with physicality, winning many of his compelling battles with Youssouf Sabaly and Aitor Ruibal. When Atlético Madrid were was in possession, the defender was unafraid to roam forward, and he passed the ball at a 90 percent clip. 5.5

Carrasco
The Belgian, attack-minded as ever, identified space out wide to receive the ball, but he had trouble exploiting it. The occasional in-swinging cross or dribble forward couldn’t break down the disciplined Betis back line. Defensively, Carrasco dropped back to aid his center-backs, but this wasn't his finest effort. 4.5
De Paul
Came up with some crunching tackles to win the ball back in the midfield. Tried to spark some offense with balls over the top or out wide, but there was an obvious Koke-sized void in the heart of Atlético’s midfield that RdP couldn’t quite fill. 6.5
Llorente
A quiet 45 minutes for the Spaniard, who — like the rest of the midfield — found it difficult to build up play and make an impact in the final third. His individual duel wins against Abner and Marc Roca were hard to come by on the right-hand side. 4
Lemar
Couldn’t create much in a deflated-looking attack. Was substituted for Morata in the second half. 4
Griezmann
Attempted to drop back between Real Betis’ midfield and defensive lines to receive and turn with the ball, but his efforts didn’t produce anything noteworthy. He attempted only two shots, unable to guide either on target. 4

Memphis
Failed to build off a convincing first match last week, unable to notch a single shot in over an hour of play. 4
Barrios
Came on at the half, and Atlético’s distribution and control of the game through central midfield improved quickly. The 20-year-old worked his tail off and progressed the ball forward to Antoine Griezmann and Álvaro Morata. 5.5

Morata
Tried to be a more direct option for the attack and had glimpses of goal, but his presence was not enough to get a goal on the scoreboard. 5
Saúl
His fresh legs added some more energy on both ends. Saúl moved the ball well and slid in for tackles. 5.5
Samuel Lino
Making his debut after an impressive loan spell at Valencia. Lino veered out wide and pressed effectively as Yannick Carrasco’s direct replacement at left wing-back. He will look to continue and take advantage of his opportunities with the team. 5

Riquelme
Came on for Rodrigo de Paul in the 80th minute and showed a couple flashes, drifting inside and attacking half-spaces. He couldn’t do much in his limited time on the pitch, though. N/A
