The 2022/23 LaLiga season finished less than three weeks ago, but the league has wasted little time in revealing the schedule for next season — which, seeing as it begins in the second week of August, is really just around the corner.
It was announced Thursday that Atlético Madrid will kick off the 2023/24 campaign in the Cívitas Metropolitano against newly-promoted Granada on Aug. 12 (tentatively) and will end it in San Sebastián against fellow UEFA Champions League side Real Sociedad on May 25 (again, tentatively).
The season’s first derby against Real Madrid comes early, in matchday six (the weekend of Sept. 23), at the Metropolitano. The reverse fixture in the Santiago Bernabéu will take place on Feb. 6 as part of matchday 23 action.
Atlético visit league champions FC Barcelona at their new (temporary) home, Estadi Lluis Companys, at the start of December and will welcome the Blaugrana to the Metropolitano in March for what could be a key late-season clash.
