Starting 11:

Oblak

Active in punching crosses away and always long to send the ball long. Put in a tough position on Ferrán Torres’ 44th-minute goal, as the striker had time to pick out his shot just outside the 18-yard box. Made good second half saves on Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, keeping Atlético Madrid within striking distance. 6.5

Molina

Had a relatively quiet first half, helping out defensively at the cost of some offense like the Argentine prefers to do. Was able to attack more in the second, sending in promising crosses and pressing up the line, though he had some trouble keeping his balance. 5

Giménez

Was a huge defensive force early in the match, making tackles and winning duels in the air to get the ball out of the Atlético box. Was unable to close the gap on Torres before the attacker put FC Barcelona in the lead. 5.5

Savić

Failed to close the space on Ferrán Torres after playing Raphinha onside for the game’s only goal. Yhe Spanish international took full advantage, calmly taking an extra touch and slotting the ball past Jan Oblak. 5

Hermoso

Made a key intervention on Lewandowski in the first half, but allowed Raphinha to turn with the ball on the build up to Barcelona’s goal, giving the attacker just enough space to send in a cross to set up Torres. 5

Carrasco

Stayed compact and committed when out of possession and darted out wide to initiate counter attacks once the ball was regained. His battles with Jules Koundé were fascinting and he won a few of them, sending in more than one cross into dangerous areas. 6

Witsel

His distribution with the ball at his feet was not good enough, though positionally he held up well over his hour on the pitch. 4.5

De Paul

Added defensive support for Nahuel Molina, the team’s de facto engine with Koke unavailable due to muscular discomfort. De Paul kept the ball moving forward when in possession and he gave Atlético some needed stability on the right-hand side. Produced two key passes as well. 6

Lemar

The Frenchman couldn’t facilitate much offense before his second half substitution. 5

Correa

Tested Barcelona’s back line early with his speed and craftiness, but had only one tame shot attempt that Marc André ter Stegen saved. 4.5

Griezmann

Was again the main catalyst for Atlético’s offense. Struck the crossbar less than 60 seconds into the match and forced multiple saves from his former teammate ter Stegen. Defensively, Griezmann’s sacrifice and work rate were on full display, as the attacker could be seen sprinting back to make an interception or tackle to win the ball. 7

Subs:

Morata

Came on for Witsel in the 59th minute to add some more attacking presence. Had chances up front, but just couldn’t get on the scoresheet despite those efforts. 5

Barrios

Helped move the ball more fluidly with his distribution out wide and into pockets of space. 5

Saúl

Subbed on for Lemar midway through the second half. Covered lots of ground, pressed insistently to win the ball back. Picked up a yellow card minutes before the final whistle. 5

Reguilón

Tried to make an impact pushing forward on the left flank but looked like a player who has received just over 100 minutes all season. 5
