Starting XI:
Oblak
Wasn’t tested too heavily throughout the match, aside from the occasional dive. The keeper moved off his line quickly and distributed effectively on his way to keeping a third consecutive clean sheet. 5.5
Carrasco
Real Betis exploited Atlético Madrid’s Reinildo-less left side, forcing Carrasco to defend the speedy Luiz Henrique, who thrives in one-on-one situations. The 29-year-old did well enough defensively after a shaky start, and on the attack, the Belgian was always willing to take on a defender. He forced a good save from Rui Silva in the 61st minute, though he should have done better with the shot. 6

Hermoso
The center back could frequently be seen pushing forward into the midfield and making overlapping runs. He has been consistently excellent in buildup play and that continued on Sunday. Defensively, he missed a tackle here and there but offered so much more security than even a few months ago. 6.5
Giménez
Had a header rattle the crossbar in the opening minutes of the second half. When needed, Giménez shifted wide but he often stayed positionally responsible. The defender ended the match with four tackles. 5.5
Savić
Was beaten on the endline in the opening minutes of the match, granting Betis a golden opportunity to score. The defender made himself a stronger presence with his tackling as the game moved along. 4.5
Molina
Liked to creep forward in the first half and try to slot in crosses. Defensively, the Argentine picked up a sloppy yellow card for an unsuccessful tackle, which prompted his substitution on the hour. 6.5
Lemar
Distributed the ball well with quick, one-two passes. His movement off the ball made him a bit of a thorn in the side for Betis, but he lacked incisiveness and was withdrawn on the hour. 5

Koke
Dropped back into pockets of space and controlled much of Atlético’s rhythm in the first half. He recycled the ball well and liked to switch the point of attack. Had a goal called back in the 71st minute after he was caught in an offside position. 6
Llorente
Was hit by some crunching tackles in the first half. Found his footing as the match went on and worked his socks off, especially after he replaced Nahuel Molina at right wing-back. 6.5
Griezmann
Began brightly with a couple promising half-chances. Usually had to drive past multiple players before sliding a pass into open space. Griezmann helped set up Ángel Correa’s winning goal with a quick pass to the striker’s feet. 7
Morata
Had a relatively quiet game, registering just one shot and being left frustrated by an unsuccessful penalty appeal in the first half. He was subbed off for Pablo Barrios in the second half. 4.5
Subs:
Correa
Scored the winning goal in the 86th minute. After receiving the ball from Griezmann, the World Cup winner used his silky dribbling and deft movement to get past four Betis defenders, cut onto his right foot, and put his shot into the back of the net. 7.5

De Paul
Added some more defensive structure and aggression to the midfield. Offensively, De Paul took some efforts on goal that were handed to him, but was unable to ping balls over the top like he usually attempts to do. 5
Barrios
Came on for Morata in the 68th minute. The midfielder looked to break lines with his passes, but not much came from his efforts until he played the penultimate pass for Correa’s winner. 5
Saúl
Subbed on for Carrasco in the 84th minute and could not do much in his limited time. N/A
Witsel
Similar to Saúl, the Belgian could not make much of an impact with his limited time on the pitch after he replaced Koke. N/A
