On the 12th anniversary of Simeone’s appointment as coach, Marcos Llorente delivered a vital victory.

Oblak

Largely unbothered, had one difficult save to make on Lucas Ocampos from close range but will be thrilled to keep this clean sheet. 5

Molina

Tried to deliver crosses and influence Atlético Madrid’s attack, but a first-half yellow card sealed his fate and saw him removed at halftime. In the past six games, Molina has been substituted after 45 minutes three times. 4

Giménez

Let off with an early warning after a clash with Ocampos before picking up a yellow for a high boot on Ivan Rakitić. The defender still produced a determined showing, including an attempt to clear the ball with his head while going to ground. 5

Witsel

Positioned himself well to receive a pass back if the midfielders found themselves under pressure. Was caught in some uncomfortable spots during Sevilla’s transitions, as the opposition utilized quick passing to exploit the defender’s lack of pace. 4.5

Azpilicueta

Played on the left side of defense and the right side, moving to right wing-back after the Çaglar Söyüncü red card. Kept things simple with his passing and swept up behind the young wing-backs, making important clearances and interceptions in the second half. 5.5

Riquelme

Managed to log a shot and looked threatening on the ball at left wing-back, but a couple bad ball losses saw him lifted at halftime. 4.5

Koke

The captain’s long-ball delivery was on point in Saturday’s game, as seen in the floated pass to Marcos Llorente to kickstart the move that culminated in Atlético Madrid’s goal. 6

De Paul

Completed 59 of his 62 passes, with nine passes into the final third and three chances created. One of his better performances this season, worked his socks off and drew a game-high seven fouls. Picked up a yellow toward the end for arguing with referee César Soto Grado, hopefully he got his money’s worth. 6.5

Lino

The 24-year-old propelled the team forward after halftime once he was moved to left wing-back. He pinged seven passes into the final third and worked hard on the other end, too — Lino racked up three clearances and made six recoveries. 5

Griezmann

The France international badly wanted to surpass Luis Aragonés on Saturday to become Atlético’s all-time top scorer, but he didn’t trouble Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović. He looked unhappy at being removed following the Söyüncü red card. 5

Morata

Waited patiently for opportunities, trying to carve out space for himself behind Sergio Ramos and Nemanja Gudelj. Forced Dmitrović into a good save early, but departed shortly after halftime with a suspected minor injury. 5.5

Llorente

Made an instant impact after entering the game. After a streaking run down the right, Llorente took down Koke’s long ball and carried it into the penalty area. His initial attempt was cleared by Ramos, but he stuck the rebound past Dmitrović for his third goal this season. 7

Correa

Tried hard to cause trouble for Sevilla with his usual quick dribbling but couldn’t bring much to fruition. Has scored only one goal in the past 14 games. 4

Saúl

Replaced Morata and shored up the midfield. Didn’t do much to move the ball forward, but ended with four clearances and two interceptions. 5

Söyüncü

Was sent off four minutes after coming on for Koke. He went studs-up on Ocampos’ ankle, and it was the right call to show him a red card. 3

Reinildo

His first appearance since February. Made an interception and a ball recovery as Atlético kept the clean sheet. 5
