Starting XI:

Oblak

Conceded twice on the night, his 400th Atletico Madrid appearance. The first goal came from a Chris Ramos cross the opening minutes of the match, where Lucas Pires was able to get on the end of the ball and tap it in. On 27 minutes, the goalkeeper rushed off his line to pressure Roger Martí, who chipped the ball over the outstretched Slovenian. In the second, Oblak was alert when Cádiz pushed forward and faced little danger. 4

Molina

Had a significant offensive presence throughout the game, taking all the space Cádiz offered. With the first real passage of play in the second half, Molina jumped on an Ángel Correa rebound and slotted his second goal of the season off the backside of Javi Hernández to tie the game, 46 seconds in. In the 66th minute, the defender’s pace down the endline kickstarted the move that culminated in Atlético’s winning goal. 7.5

Hermoso

Pushed out wide, more of an offensive presence on the ball. Supported the midfield with his passing and movement. Adapted to Lino’s entry by sitting a bit deeper, allowing the more Brazilian to creep into spaces up the flank. 6

Witsel

Comfortable on the ball, completing 94 percent of his 130 pass attempts. Had problems defending the opponent’s attacks through the middle, especially the pacy Ramos. Failed to do much in stopping Roger’s chip past Oblak. Better positionally after halftime. 4

Azpilicueta

Mistimed his header from Jeremías Ledesma’s goal kick, allowing for the ball to fall to the feet of Roger on the second Cádiz goal. Remained calm and made up for his error minutes later with a lofted cross to Correa, who was able to head in Atleti’s first goal on 32 minutes. 6.5

Riquelme

The converted defender took on players frequently and successfully, but his distribution into the box was widely off the mark. The 23-year-old didn’t show the end product that he did in Pamplona on Thursday, and the more-decisive Lino replaced him after 60 minutes. 5

Saúl

Continued his run of good form with solid passing and positional awareness. The Spaniard’s assisted another goal on 66 minutes, playing the cross for Correa to tap in and complete the comeback. He also had the hockey assist on the Argentine’s first goal. 7

Koke

Was effective on both ends of the ball. Defensively, the veteran midfielder tracked back and picked up three tackles, and with the ball, Koke did well to maintain possession and control of the game. 6.5

Llorente

Seemed to be hunting for a chance on goal throughout the night. Although his efforts didn’t result in a goal, his slight touch of the ball from a Correa cutback created a rebound for Molina to tap in past a sprawled Ledesma. 5.5

Griezmann

The attacker created multiple chances for himself on net, hitting the post on four minutes and forcing Ledesma to make a diving save shortly after. Griezmann also hit the top of the net with a free kick shortly before Cádiz made it 2-0. 5.5

Correa

Elusive and shifty, looked fully recovered from his knee injury and always tried to connect with teammates around the box. The Argentine’s first goal was a well-placed header from an Azpilicueta cross, and the second was a tap in from a Saúl ball into the box. Tremendous performance. 8

Subs:

Giménez

Replaced Koke on the hour. The back line benefited from his strength and positioning (three clearances). 5.5

De Paul

Added energy in midfield and carried the ball through the middle with pace and decisiveness. 5.5

Lino

His pass to Saúl in the box helped set up the winning goal. Another moment of class and quality. 5.5

Galán

Came on for Azpilicueta in the 81st minute. Unafraid to turn with the ball in a more-advanced position and look up the field for an open man. 5
