Los Colchoneros will visit the Ciutat de València later this month with a quarterfinal berth on the line. Atlético have not qualified for the Copa del Rey’s last eight since 2018, and to get there, Diego Simeone’s men will have to eliminate a team they have beaten only once in their past five tries.
Under Javi Calleja’s management, Levante have overcome a slow start to the season in LaLiga Smartbank and appear well-positioned to return to the top flight in 2023/24. Levante are second in Segunda and the Valencian side have only been beaten three times all season. A 91st-minute goal from Wesley Moraes on Tuesday capped Levante’s 3-2 win over Getafe and sealed Las Granotas’ place in the last 16, and they are attempting to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2019.
