LaLiga have announced the fixtures for the 2022-23 season. The campaign starts on the weekend of 14 August and runs through the weekend of 9 November. Club football will then stop for just under a month as the 2022 World Cup in Qatar takes place.

For Atlético Madrid, this means a return to action on New Year’s Eve as they welcome Elche to the Metropolitano.

But to begin the season, Atlético travel to the suburbs to take on Quique Sánchez Flores’ Getafe on the first weekend. They finish the season at La Cerámica against Villarreal.
