He came, he saw and he conquered.
Luis Suárez has now said his goodbyes after moving to Atlético Madrid two summers ago. The Uruguayan played 83 games for Atlético, scoring 34 goals and winning a LaLiga title in the process.
“It is the end of two unforgettable years at Atlético. You can see the images of everything I’ve experienced. I will never forget the love from each one of you from the first moment,” he said in a social media post with a video attached.
“I appreciate my teammates, who treated me like one of them and all the staff who worked hard every day so those who played could give their all. And a special thanks to the fans for the love and support in every minute. To have won a league title with Atlético is something inexplicable and even more in the way we did it!
“I leave above all feeling proud, for these marvelous years and feeling content that they believed in me. Both my family and I will be forever grateful.”

Suarez’ next destination is not known but he has been linked with a move to Aston Villa where he could join up with Steven Gerrard, his former teammate with Liverpool. Inter Miami, the MLS club owned by David Beckham, also continue to be mentioned as a potential landing spot. They reportedly want Lionel Messi and Suárez as an attacking duo.
