Starting XI:
Oblak
Again the keeper conceded just before the half, letting in a header from an unmarked Álvaro Negredo. He looked shaky at times when attempting to deal with Cádiz’s crosses, but never shied from coming out and attempting to disrupt a ball flung into his area. —4.5
Carrasco
The Belgian played too much as an individual in the first half, frequently opting to cut inside into foot traffic instead of bringing teammates into the game. On multiple occasions, he chose to dribble or shoot rather than distribute to better options. In the second half, Carrasco was moved to the right-hand side, but substitute Correa was more impactful. —4.5
Reinildo
Extremely aggressive from the jump, which served him well early as he halted Cádiz’s attacking efforts more than once. This came back to bite him after a studs-up tackle on Rubén Alcaraz was initially red-carded but ultimately resulted in a yellow. Not so long after, his late reaction on a cross left Negredo open for his goal. —4
Giménez
The defender made some solid interventions early and continued to clear the ball when needed in the second half, but the proper communication was lacking for Negredo’s goal. The Uruguayan made up for it in the 73rd minute with a goal-line clearance to keep Atlético Madrid in the lead. —6
Savić
Quietly did well either to clear the ball or go in for a crunching tackle. Was the main distributor from the backline to the midfield, or outside to the wingbacks. —6
Llorente
Provided a spark at right wing-back with his tireless running and quick-fire passing. In the second half, his ability to win the ball along the endline and send in a cross started the move that led to Rodrigo De Paul’s goal. —6.5

De Paul
Cádiz were able to dominate the midfield in the first half in part because of the Argentine’s erratic passing and positioning. But in the 68th minute, De Paul sprinted unmarked into the penalty area and floated in a rebound to give his team a 2-1 lead, and eventually a W. —7
Herrera
Quiet but mostly effective in his fifth consecutive start. Struggled against Cádiz’s energetic press in the rain and could not find the accuracy on his longer passes. —4
Koke
The captain was unable to dictate the pace of the game with his distribution, which was often backward. Renan Lodi replaced him at the half. —4
Griezmann
Moved well off the ball, which helped start the first line of the team’s press and produced quick passes. But he had little impact and registered no shots. His quiet night ended with Luis Suárez entering in his place on the hour. —5

João Félix
The striker continues to strike early. In the third minute, the Portuguese hunted down the ball back to Jeremías Ledesma in net. The keeper misplaced his pass and Félix took full advantage, intercepting the ball and calmly sending it into the back of the net. —7
Subs:
Lodi
Subbed on for Koke, looking to make more of an offensive impact on the game. The Brazilian put in some hard yards and passed crisply. He finished with two tackles and a clearance. —5
Suárez
Replaced Antoine Griezmann in the 60th minute. Couldn't put his name on the scoresheet, but ended the match with one key pass. —5
Correa
Added more attacking power for the team. His powerful shot on net in the second half forced a good save out of Ledesma, and De Paul subsequently buried the rebound. —6

Javier Serrano
Came on for João Félix in the 83rd minute. The academy product received a questionable red card minutes later for a tackle on Álex Fernandez. —3
Felipe
Came on for Giménez late in the match and couldn't make much of an impact in such limited time. —N/A
