Cunha’s heroics were not enough to earn three points.

Starting XI:

Oblak

Kept the game tied when Mallorca peppered his net with shots in the first half. He made a spectacular one-handed save on a Lee Kang-In rocket. But his defense left him in challenging positions in the second half and he conceded twice. Franco Russo’s 80th-minute header and Takefusa Kubo’s 91st-minute breakaway winner emerged via defensive errors. —5

Lodi

Made a rare start. The Brazilian was active, especially early on in the game. He was consistently available as an option out wide, but his crosses were inaccurate. Defensively, Lodi made eight tackles but struggled to hold his position again. —5.5

Felipe

Looked shaky after Stefan Savić was taken off, but settled down as the match continued. He was always a presence on corners. However, he gave away the free kick from which Russo equalized. —4.5

Savić

Was subbed off early due to a hamstring injury. He will undergo tests to determine the length of his absence. His commanding presence was missed throughout the game. —5

Llorente

The Spaniard was often targeted to bring some life into Atlético Madrid’s offense. He could frequently be seen bring down long balls and running at defenders. His efforts created some opportunities, but his end product went missing. He also failed to cut out the pass that landed at Kubo’s feet, allowing the Japan international to win the game for the visitors. —7

Koke

Although it was his ball over the top to Ángel Correa that helped set up the goal, the captain had trouble finding the right pass throughout the match. Even when he pushed higher up the pitch in the second half, a well-positioned Mallorca defense frequently halted him. —4.5

De Paul

Quiet for most of his time on the field, often opting to pass the ball back instead of going forward. De Paul was subbed off for Félix in the 60th minute, as Diego Simeone tried to add more explosion to his attack. —4.5

Kondogbia

The midfielder never shied away from a tackle, which was good and bad. When he was successful, Kondogbia helped win back balls in the midfield. When he was too aggressive, he gave away sloppy fouls. —5

Correa

Contributed to the attacking onslaught in the opening minutes with some quick turns on the ball, but faded as the match when on. It wasn't until the 68th minute where Ángel’s light shined again. With a drive down the flank and a low cross in the box, Correa picked up an assist to give the team the lead on his 300th appearance. —7.5

Griezmann

Routinely dropped back into space to receive the ball and turn. His deft touches and ability to create space caused problems for the opposition and gave Atlético opportunities, though his two shots on target were relatively-weak efforts. —7

Cunha

Continued his good form, drawing multiple fouls and coming close to scoring from a shot that went just wide. The 22-year-old got his goal in the second half, fighting to bundle the ball just over the line. —7.5

Subs:

Hermoso

Subbed on for an injured Savić in the 11th minute. Failed to successfully mark Russo, whose header opened the floodgates for Mallorca. —4

Félix

Subbed on to spark the offense, Félix missed a chance in the dying minutes of the game which would have brought the score back level. —4.5

Lemar

Replaced fellow French international Griezmann in the 60th minute. Lemar didn't get many touches on the ball but immediately set up a free kick and a chance for Cunha, further demonstrating how essential he is to Atlético. —6.5

Suárez

Couldn't create anything after replacing Correa in the 71st minute. —5

Vrsaljko

Came on for Cunha with just under 20 minutes left. The defender struggled to find a rhythm, holding onto the ball far too long when options to pass were available. —4
