Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid have reached an agreement over the transfer of Marcos Llorente, with the Spanish midfielder set to undergo a medical imminently. He will sign a five-year deal with the club after the medical is completed.
Atlético announced the news on their website and said Llorente is an “excellent defensive midfielder with the great anticipation and intuition to intercept opponent’s passes.”
The 24-year-old’s father Paco and his grandfather Ramón Grasso both played for Atlético during their careers.
This move frees up Rodri to move to Manchester City, with the Premier League side heavily linked.
Finally, Atlético did not mention a fee in official announcement, but it is believed to be around €40 million.
