Atlético Madrid are on the brink of clinching second place in LaLiga, and they will do just that with one point at Espanyol on Saturday.

This classic Liga Santander fixture comes in a good moment for Atlético, as they enter the match on a four-game winning streak. Espanyol are comfortably mid-table once again — they haven’t finished higher than eighth or lower than 14th since 2006 — but have one of LaLiga’s better home records. In addition, the Catalan side have won or drawn each of their past six games.

Espanyol and Atlético typically play out tight, low-scoring affairs — only one of the past five meetings has seen more than one goal scored.

Possible XI

Oblak; Juanfran, Savić, Godín, Saúl; Partey, Rodri, Koke, Lemar; Griezmann, Morata.

Predicted scoreline

Espanyol 1-1 Atlético.
