On Wednesday afternoon, Atlético Madrid officially released their new home kit for the 2019/2020 season, with promotions that featured Álvaro Morata, Saúl Ñíguez and Femenino star Amanda Sampedro. As per usual, a video was released that showed various aspects of this new kit.

In what is somewhat a departure from recent kits, the design is much less stylized and far more traditional to Atlético kits of the past. There are no frills to the stripes this year, and the Plus500 sponsorship has been adjusted a tad. Other details are the Trident of Neptune inside 1903 — the year of the club’s foundation — on the collar. The official statement alluded to the kit being similar to the 2010 Europa League kit, and it does appear to be similar in some ways.
A nice kit, if a bit boring, but it’s nice to have a more traditional home kit for the coming season. The second and third kits should be released sometime this summer.
