Atlético Madrid will put their league-best home form on the line Tuesday evening as they welcome bogey team Girona to the Spanish capital.

Atlético and Girona will meet for the first time since January, when the Catalans eliminated los colchoneros from the Copa del Rey at the last 16 stage. Eusebio’s side drew 3-3 at A Stadium Called Wanda to dump out Atleti, and these two teams have played out five draws in all competitions since Girona’s promotion last year — including a 1-1 draw at Montilivi in December.

Diego Simeone will welcome Rodri back into midfield following the suspension he served during Saturday’s 4-0 win at Alavés. Muscular injuries to both Diego Costa and Thomas Lemar means both players will miss out, while Girona will be without top scorer Cristhian Stuani due to a foot issue.

Possible XI

Oblak; Juanfran, Giménez, Godín, Filipe Luís; Thomas, Rodri, Koke, Saúl; Griezmann, Morata.

Predicted scoreline

Atlético 1-1 Girona.
