Atlético Madrid-Villarreal: Time, TV, streaming and how to watch Liga Santander 2019

It’s back to domestic action following a massive midweek win.

Villarreal are next up for Atlético Madrid, who will look to keep up the intensity following their win over Juventus on Wednesday.

It is not unreasonable to expect a dip in the team’s overall performance considering the intensity of Wednesday’s Champions League match, but a victory would essentially confirm Atlético’s presence in next season’s edition of Europe’s premier competition. After Sevilla’s loss to Barcelona on Saturday, the mattress makers have the chance to go 13 points clear of fifth place with 13 weeks to go.

However, this particular opponent will make life difficult for Atlético. The hosts have not won this fixture since April 2014(!), and haven’t beaten the Yellow Submarine at all since April 2015. Javi Calleja’s men are in trouble, too — they sit 18th entering this match and have just four league wins all season.

Possible XI

Oblak; Arias, Savić, Godín, Filipe Luís; Thomas P, Rodri, Correa, Koke; Griezmann, Morata.

Predicted scoreline

Atlético Madrid 0-1 Villarreal.
