Atlético Madrid return to action on a Sunday evening in Andalusia, where surprising Sevilla await, intent on stealing a march on their top-three rivals.
As usual, Sevilla have been strong at home this season, with six wins from eight. They have played good football under Pablo Machín and will host a team that is simply average away from Estadio Wanda Metropolitano — Atlético have won just twice from eight on the road.
Last season, Atleti won this fixture in riotous fashion as they notched three points courtesy of a 5-2 result. What’s more, they have lost only once at the Pizjuán in LaLiga under Diego Simeone. But this should yet prove to be a stern test for los colchoneros’ and their title credentials.

Diego Simeone is set to make a few significant changes to his side. Santiago Arias will be benched in place of Juanfran, who hasn’t played since Nov. 6. Simeone’s only two healthy center backs will start and Saúl will again take up the left back position. Thomas Lemar should make his return from an ankle injury and Ángel Correa is likely to displace Nikola Kalinić at forward.
Possible XI
Oblak; Juanfran, Savić, Godín, Saúl; Thomas P, Rodri, Koke, Lemar; Griezmann, Correa.
Predicted scoreline
Sevilla 1-1 Atlético.
