Atlético Madrid’s Copa del Rey fate hangs in the balance Wednesday night as they welcome Girona to the Wanda Metropolitano.
Diego Simeone won his 250th game on Sunday against Levante, but his Atlético has never won a match against Girona. The Catalans hung onto a 1-1 draw in the first leg but conceded an away goal, which could prove invaluable as this last 16 tie shifts to the capital.

Simeone has some decisions to make less than 24 hours before kickoff. Lucas Hernández has been given the medical all-clear but did not play in the 1-0 win over Levante — and with Saúl back from suspension, he may take over left back once more if the defender suffers another setback. Vitolo could get a second consecutive start following his impressive outing on Sunday. Ángel Correa and Nikola Kalinić are the options to start next to Antoine Griezmann — who scored Atlético’s away goal last week and in fact has scored Atleti’s last five goals dating back to Dec. 15 (five games).
Possible XI
Adán; Juanfran, Giménez, Godín, Saúl; Thomas P, Rodri, Koke, Vitolo; Griezmann, Correa.
Predicted scoreline
Atlético 2-1 Girona a.e.t.
