Atlético Madrid have reincorporated their international players at training this week, and Diego Simeone has lined up a potential team without captain Diego Godín in it for Eibar’s visit to the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday afternoon.

The eleven picked in training were: Juanfran, Giménez, Lucas, Filipe Luis; Koke, Rodri, Saúl, Lemar; Griezmann, Diego Costa.

The Uruguayan’s absence gives Simeone a chance to try Lucas and Giménez at the back together with Filipe Luis, who no doubt will be happy to get more playing time.

Meanwhile, Vitolo returned to training and did some exercises with the ball as he steps up his recovery. Ángel Correa trained too, and all signs point towards him being available for the game against the Basque side.

Stefan Savić, Nikola Kalinić, Santiago Arias remain out injured, and Simeone is once again working with a threadbare squad. Regardless, Atlético need a win Saturday or else their title chase is as good as over given how great both Barcelona and Real Madrid have started the season. They played one game at the Wanda Metropolitano so far this season and beat Rayo Vallecano unconvincingly — they need another three points on Saturday despite the injury concerns.
