Carlos Isaac made his debut for Atlético Madrid on Sunday against Deportivo la Coruña and spoke after the game about the confidence instilled in him by Diego Simeone.
“I’m very happy for the opportunity Cholo has given me,” he said. “It’s easy to play with these teammates that I have, because they are the best in the world.”
He was given a 6 in our player ratings and “looked pretty smooth in the attacking third and fired in a couple dangerous crosses, but he left lots to be desired defensively”. It was also a good debut for a 19-year-old, who was throw in at the 11th hour. The nerves must have been indescribable.
“I try to give my best, not get afraid and continue with this run to see if I can return to the first team. Simeone told me I didn’t have to be nervous and to play like I always do and that’s what I did,” he finished.
