Oblak (7): Jan was needed a few times in the second half, but never faced anything too difficult. The clean sheet wizard did it again.
Juanfran (7.5): Juanfran took advantage of the space given to him on the flank. He spent most of the most of the match past his own half, adding another threat to the attack.
Godín (7.5): Godín made sure to command the match and communicate with his back line. He also almost scored a wide open header off a set piece.
Giménez (8): Giménez has found some form recently and showed it in Thursday’s match. He was a rock in the back clearing, intercepting and tackling extremely well.
Sergi (7): The young Spaniard was called up to the squad for the first time in European competition. He didn’t face many challenges, and the 22-year-old completed over 96 percent of his passes over the 90 minutes.
Vitolo (7): No shots from Vitolo, but he really showed his class driving right at the defense and picking out key passes to create chances. He made the defense focus on him and was thus able to use his reliable passing (85 percent) to open up space for others.
Gabi (8): Another veteran who used his experience to command the match. Gabi set the tempo with a wide passing range and kept everyone focused, per usual. The captain led all players with 110 touches.
Koke (6.5): Koke only played the first half, but distributed well — particularly on long balls. However, he didn’t make a huge impact on the match.
Correa (7.5): Correa pestered and wore out Copenhagen’s defense, forcing them back and letting his feet do the work. He completed seven dribbles and provided the assist on Kévin Gameiro’s goal.
Torres (7): El Niño used his height to his advantage. He got free multiple times and was able to get a head on crosses into the box. No goal though, unfortunately.
Gamerio (7.5): Gameiro got the winning goal on seven minutes with a left-footed strike from outside the box. Right from kickoff, he was very active and could have scored again just after the hour if not for an excellent 1v1 save.
Subs
Saúl (6.5): Saúl came on for Koke at halftime. He used the space given to him to pass and even take a long range effort at goal. When Atlético Madrid moved to a 4-2-3-1, he played just behind Fernando Torres and tried to drive the team forward as a pseudo-#10.
Gaitán (6.5): Gaitán only played 30 minutes but did well with his first minutes since November. He crossed the ball well and got back on defense when needed.
Thomas (6): Partey was subbed on in the 68th minute to control the rest of the match.
