Atlético Madrid travelled to Valladolid on Friday with 19 players and their technical staff. The defensive crisis that has been crippling them in recent weeks is slowly but surely fixing itself and Simeone has Diego Godin and Juanfran back to call upon on Saturday against Valladolid.

Diego Costa is obviously out after surgery and there are chances for Joaquín and Borja Garcés in midfield and attack but it looks like he will return to the Kalinic and Griezmann duo after it was such a success against Alaves last weekend.

Atlético have two more games before the Christmas break and could set themselves up nicely for a run at the league title if they win those and put pressure on Sevilla and Barcelona ahead of them in 1st and 2nd respectively.
