The international break might be a good chance for Diego Simeone and Atlético Madrid to do some work with their many injured players and get them back up to speed before the Barcelona game on Nov. 24.
Koke, Diego Costa, José Giménez, Diego Godín, Lucas Hernández, Thomas Lemar and Stefan Savić stayed in Madrid for the international break and Jan Oblak took the rest of the year off from Slovenia duty due to lingering issues over an injury. Nikola Kalinić remains out of the Croatia squad after a row with the manager during the summer and Gelson Martins is just getting over an injury himself too.
That means Santiago Arias, Ángel Correa, Filipe Luís, Antoine Griezmann and Thomas Partey will play along with the two Spanish midfielders Rodri and Saúl.
