Diego Costa and Stefan Savić are back in Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid squad for their trip to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night. José Giménez, however, has missed out due to sciatic nerve irritation in his thigh.
Costa missed the past two games against Real Betis and Villarreal and did not get called up to Luis Enrique’s squad for the most recent international break due to a hamstring injury. He has had trouble with his hamstrings in the past, but the three weeks off will hopefully have helped him to overcome the troubles he has had and will see him through to Christmas and beyond.

Savić, on the other hand, has suffered for longer. He has only played in three league matches and has not played in the Champions League yet. He has dealt with a “severe contusion along with a bruise” that caused problems in one of his veins according to the club’s official report.
Giménez was the hero against Monaco in the Champions League with a late first half winner and has played in both group stage games so far.
