Simeone and co. will look to build on their first win of the season at Las Palmas, but Valencia will have other ideas.

Where is it on and what time? The game takes place at Mestalla in Valencia at 16:15 CEST on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Information about the game

The international break is a distant and painful memory. It is time now for LaLiga to start again and Atlético Madrid have been handed a difficult fixture against Valencia to kickstart their campaign once again.

Valencia are coming off a draw they earned against Real Madrid prior to the break, which they could and maybe should have won. Marcelino’s men are experiencing somewhat of a rebirth — even if it is a little early to say that with empirical evidence.

Atlético don’t have Antoine Griezmann, as the Frenchman is finishing the two-game suspension he earned after calling the referee a coward in the opener at Girona. But Diego Simeone can call upon Kévin Gameiro for the first time this year; Griezmann’s compatriot is recovered from a groin injury he sustained several months ago. Šime Vrsaljko has been dropped from the squad for unknown reasons, which Augusto Fernández is out with a hamstring problem.

How to watch on television
