Atlético Madrid will kick off their La Liga season with a Saturday night fixture away to promoted Catalan club Girona on Aug. 19.
Los Colchoneros will begin the 2017-18 season with a kick-off time of 20:15, as they embark on their historic first campaign at their new Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
While the fixture list had already been released ahead of the domestic competition’s start, the days and times of each of the opening round games were only released on Thursday.
Current holders Real Madrid will take on Deportivo La Coruña in Galicia in the partidazo on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 22:15, while Barcelona have a home fixture against Real Betis on the same day at 20:15.
Atlético will hope to kickstart the season in winning fashion against the minnows, who gained promotion to the top flight for the first time in their history last season.
