Diogo Jota will play in the Championship next year on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports.
Jota signed on a five-year deal after coming over from Paços Ferreira last summer. But after spending last season at Porto, it appears as if the 20-year-old has not impressed Diego Simeone enough to merit a place in the first team. He looks set to spend the 2017/18 season with fellow Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves as Wolves continue to draw top young talent from around Europe.
Most who cover Atlético Madrid have not seen the highly-rated youngster either, as he hasn’t played a single competitive minute for the side. Last year we did a Q&A with Portuguese football expert Jan Hagen, who shed some light on how good the player could be.
I'm hearing a season-long loan for Diogo Jota has now been agreed with Atletico and will be announced by @Wolves.

Jota played 38 games for Porto in 2016/17 and scored nine goals with seven assists. In total, during his blossoming career, Jota has played in 85 games, created 21 goals and scored 27. Thus, he can score and create in almost equal measure and should be able to light up the Championship next season. But after failing to factor into Simeone’s plans for a second consecutive year, the Portuguese’s future at Atlético may be up in the air.
