It may sound a tad clichéd, but it’s true in this case: there is never a dull moment at Atlético Madrid. Because of that, it’s fun to write about the team’s on-and off-pitch exploits and there’s never a shortage of short news content or longform opinion and analysis.
Into the Calderón is currently looking for writers heading into a new season, one that should be very, very interesting for Atlético. The club is working through a registration ban and is set to embark on a new era with a new badge and a new stadium near Barajas Airport. It’s a pretty exciting time to be following Atleti, we’ve gotta say.
We are looking for writers who:
- Can be available and counted on for a 1-3 pieces of writing a week. However much you write is, in the end, up to you, but we need people who can be regular contributors.
- Can do some “quick hit” breaking-news type articles - usually no more than 250 words. These articles can be written in 20 minutes or so and can even have a bit of snap analysis at the end. This is the priority position for us at the moment.
- Understand and enjoy tactics and strategy and can break down a game with depth and in language that casual fans can understand. This applicant could carve out a place as our primary tactics writer and author of “Tactics Board” articles.
- Have opinions about Atlético and LaLiga and have no problem putting them down in writing and sharing them with the footballing world.
Does this sound like you? If it does and you’re interested in finding out more about writing opportunities at ITC, shoot an email to Robbie or Jeremy right away. If you’ve applied before, feel free to apply again. If you haven’t...well, what are you waiting for?
