Alexandre Lacazatte has his heart set on moving to Atlético Madrid according to Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas. AS say that Lacazette is hoping Lyon wait for Atlético to make up their mind on him soon.
“We have a strong relationship with Alexandre,” Aulas said. “We will not do anything to put a strain on that, only if it is something we agreed upon in the beginning. We have a responsibility with the club of his heart but they haven’t sent a concrete offer with the TAS decision.”
All has gone quiet on the transfer front regarding the French striker in recent weeks despite false reports that Arsenal were mooted by Aulas as a possible destination. It appears it’s Atlético or nothing for Lacazette, who might even be willing to forego the first six months of the 2017-18 season in order to play with compatriot Antoine Griezmann and Atlético.
Griezmann posted a photo of himself with Lacazette and brother Theo in the background. The pair are very close friends and it was initially reported that Griezmann had convinced the 26-year-old to move in the first place. It would have been a pretty rough move if Griezmann had left Atlético given he had already recruited Lacazette prior to the summer.
