Atletico Sporting Director Andrea Berta has his pick of clubs this summer

Atletico Madrid’s sporting director has his choice of clubs this summer including PSG, Inter Milan and Manchester United. Reports in AS suggest that the Italian dealmaker has been offered €14 million a year to take over the role with a new project starting in an effort to improve the club after a meek Ligue 1 title challenge and an abomination that lead to a defeat against Barcelona in the Champions League.

With the money on the table offered by PSG, the report says United and Inter Milan are more hopeful than anything but Jose Mourinho has long been keen to bring him in. One of the things he wants is complete power in the transfer market and over the recruitment of players, which could trip up a potential deal at PSG.

Berta’s symbolic goodbye?

The report says that Berta showed up and training recently only to leave a half an hour early, and pointed to that asa . symbolic image. PSG wants Berta first and then bring Simeone in during the summer of 2018.

The Italian has been key at Atletico Madrid in many of their best signings showing a great eye for potential with plenty of value too: such as Carrasco, Vrsaljko and Savic.

Some of Atletico’s biggest stars are coming back for one year, it seems, with Oblak, Griezmann and Simeone pointing towards an aggressive summer as their only requirement.
