Koke had a gun pointed to his head and had a €70,000 watch stolen from him as he paid for his parking in Madrid on Thursday night, according the reports.

Atleti’s midfielder went straight to the police station where he reported the crime. He was entering an underground car park, paying for his parking when he was approached by the assailant and told to give him the watch. He did so and is not supposed to have suffered any injuries.

It is not ideal preparation for Koke, who is expected to feature in Atletico’s midfield against Real Madrid on Saturday in the Madry derby.

In other news, Kevin Gameiro has been ruled out of the game with a thigh issue when playing with France against Spain in an international almost two weeks ago. It means that Fernando Torres will likely start up front. The 33-year-old has been in fine form since returning from a head injury he sustained against Deportivo La Coruña.

Nico Gaitan has also been left our of the squad as it becomes increasingly unlikely that he will remain at the club beyond the summer. He has failed to impress and seems incapable of staying fit enough to stake a real claim for a starting position.
