Inter Milan, Juventus and Arsenal have all been mentioned as possible destinations for Diego Simeone when he leaves Atletico Madrid’s dugout. The race for his signature will have to wait until next summer, however, as AS report that he has informed the club he will remain in Atletico’s dugout until the end of his contract.

Atletico have struggled for consistency this season that started with two draws in the first two games and has dogged them all season. They are in a battle for Champions League football as Real Sociedad remain on their heels for fourth place.

With a transfer ban in place, Simeone’s options might be limited this summer and if they do happen to lost Antoine Griezmann, it would be disastrous for the squad but Simeone, along with Andrea Berta, is planning for both scenarios according to AS, should their appeal of the decision to ban them from registering players stand.

Simeone has long spoken about his desire to return to Inter Milan and it is believed that he does not particularly harbour a desire to coach in the Premier League just yet. His options are still very much open. Atletico move into their new stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano, next season and they will have the draw of Cholo to make sure all the seats are filled and expectation heading into the season is as high as ever.
