Lucas Hernández faces 7 months in jail over domestic abuse incident

The Atlético defender was accused of domestic abuse, girlfriend faces time in jail too

The prosecutor in the Lucas Hernández domestic abuse case has asked for seven months imprisonment for the Atlético Madrid defender for “an offense of mistreatment in the family environment,” along with taking away his right to own a weapon for two years, according to AS.

Hernández’ girlfriend faces a similar, but slightly less harsh sentence of six months in jail. The prosecutor wants her to serve four months for the domestic violence and two months for criminal damages.

A 500-metre restraining order has been put in place and they are not allowed to communicate with each other by any means for two years.

According to AS’ report, the pair tried to reach a resolution outside of the court but the prosecutor has decided to try both amid the accusations.
