Sime Vrsaljko is drawing attention from the Premier League and according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Liverpool are very keen on the right-back and have been in direct contact with Andrea Berta regarding a signing in the winter transfer market.
The Croatian has been in and out of Atlético’s side with injuries holding him back whenever a run in the team beckons. He started the season recovering from a knee injury and has failed to supplant Juanfran at the position in Simeone’s preferred starting eleven.
Vrsaljko started at the weekend against Real Betis but that was his first start since Elche in the Copa del Rey. He was either on the bench or out of the squad for the seven games prior to last weekend’s clash in LaLiga.
Serie A seemed to be Vrsaljko’s next destination but Napoli might balk at his price of €25 million. Liverpool are currently managing with Nathaniel Clyne out injured and a committee of right-backs replacing him every week.
