Once again, Atlético Madrid come away with a draw. Atlético are still undefeated in La Liga, but when the draws could have been wins, it is hard not to feel disappointed. In this match, Ángel Correa scored the only goal with a superb finish at the near post. However, Carlos Bacca equalised in the 81st minute from a corner. Diego Simeone and Ángel Correa pushed positivity and hard work as the answer post-match.

Diego Simeone

On the match and staying positive through tough results:

"This was the best of our recent games, for individual performances and team intensity We created chances to finish off the game. [Kévin] Gameiro had one but their goalkeeper made a great save. I am sticking to the positive, although the point does not taste too well."

On how to improve the results:

"I will keep working hard, looking for alternatives, and believe in the players I have I have important players and an important team. If we keep on this path things will improve for sure. I always prefer to see the positive side."

On Ángel Correa’s impact on the match and potential going forward:

"We have spoken a lot with Ángel. He scored a [great goal]. He is a player who keeps improving, and we hope he does not stop at this."

Ángel Correa

His view on the match:

"We knew it was going to be a difficult game. They are a good side and we were not able to finish them off, that is why we drew. We created many chances but the ball did not want to go in. We must be relaxed, we are making chances, and we just need a bit of luck. We must keep going like this."

On the opportunities during the match:

“We created lots of chances, but we’re having bad luck. The ball doesn’t want to go in. We have to keep working hard."

On the must-win match against Qarabag this Tuesday:

“On Tuesday we have another final,” he said. “Hopefully we get the win.”
