Bournemouth assistant groundskeeper Dan González has tendered his resignation in order to take over the top spot at the Wanda Metropolitano, according to a report from AS. Bounemouth’s pitch is well respected in the Prem so this should be a good pickup for Atlético.

The article also includes a gem of a quote from Diego Simeone, who had this to say when asked about Barcelona’s concerns about the length of the grass at the Wanda:

“When you invite me to your house I eat off your tablecloth, with your plates and glasses.”

Gold.

  • Koke to feature in Amazon series

A report from Marca suggests that Atlético midfielder Koke will feature in an episode of a new documentary series being developed by LaLiga and Amazon. The series will have a human interest focus and will feature several interesting figures from the Liga Santander landscape.

Koke’s episode is currently marked to open the series and his story does make an ideal starting point in a number of ways. Though he is not one of the biggest stars in LaLiga, his is a true success story for the league. He came up through the Atlético academy system, solidified himself as member of the first team and has parlayed that success into a budding career with the Spain national team—a homegrown poster boy if there ever was one.

Other players to be featured in the series are Iñaki Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Carlos Soler from Valencia. Further episodes will include front office staff from various clubs.

It is unclear what the current timeline for production and release will be, or whether the series will be available on the Amazon streaming platform outside of Spain.
