Bernard Mensah, the 21-year-old Ghanian, will leave Atletico Madrid before the end of the month according to Ghana Soccer Net.
The midfielder has failed to make an impression under Diego Simeone and has a couple of options according to the report although they do not divulge what those two options are. It could simply mean a loan move or a permanent one or, alternatively, two teams chasing him.
Mensah joined from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes in 2015 and moved on loan to Getafe where he failed to make an impression. The club struggled massively before being relegated.
Atletico are currently in the process of building for the future and will need to keep hold of as many of their younger players due to the fact that they have an impending transfer ban that will hurt once it kicks in. This, however, has not stopped Simeone from moving on players who are simply not cut out for the task at the club; as we have seen with Borja Baston as he closes in on a move to Swansea City despite an excellent year for Eibar last season.
