Alessio Cerci is not going anywhere after failed medical

The 29-year-old has no future at the club and Atletico need to find him a new team

It has been a relatively quiet day in terms of Atletico Madrid getting involved in the big mess that is Transfer Deadline Day but one move that was expected to be made was that of Alessio Cerci to ... well, anywhere.

He was linked with a move to Bologna but multiple outlets are now reporting that he has failed a medical due to a previous injury.

A 2014 summer move from Torino to Atletico was an abject failure and he was shipped out on loan to AC Milan the following January before returning a year later and being shipped out yet again, this time to Genoa. He remained at the Italian side for six months before returning this summer and it seemed all but certain he would be leaving the Vicente Calderon this summer.

With just a few hours to go in the transfer market, it seems unlikely that Atletico will find a suitor for the 29-year-old given the failed medical.

His finest moment for Atleti? This one maybe?
