Antoine Griezmann has been key to France’s success at the Euros and we even went to the hassle of trying to explain why he is so much fun to watch.
He has now scored four goals in six games for his national side after eliminating Ireland single-handedly during a thunderous six minute spell.
The 25-year-old is playing in a central position for France in their quarter-final clash with Iceland and is producing the kind of display that Atletico Madrid fans will be used to seeing during his two years at the Vicente Calderon.
Griezmann has just signed a new contract with Atletico Madrid, which is considered one of the smartest pieces of business that they could have done to start the window.
Atletico obviously knew that he would be obtaining a few more admirers over the course of the Euros and his €100 million release clause means that even if he is tempted to leave, he will be doing so at the maximum cost of the team he is joining.
But let’s not talk about that now. Just enjoy the fact that we will be watching him for another season and he is getting the chance to show off his talent to the world.
