Atlético Madrid’s new home shirt may have leaked

Is this the shirt in which Atleti will win the 2016-17 Champions League?

Atlético Madrid supporters have been sitting on the edge of their seats for weeks now, waiting for some sign from the club regarding two very important things: a new striker (Kévin Gameiro is the name today, it'll be Carlos Bacca tomorrow) and the new kits. Robbie published a post on the prospective away strip a couple weeks back but this morning it appears the highly-anticipated home shirt has hit the Twitter machine via footyheadlines.com, a site noted for kit leaks.

Overall: I like it. I mean, it's hard to mess up something as simple yet beautiful as Atlético’s classic red and white, but this looks very well done.

The stripes appear a bit thicker, and the collar is now red with a blue outline. Most noticeably, the back of the shirt is striped once more; many Atlético fans did not care for the all-red backside of last season (I personally very much liked it, different strokes for different folks). The inside of the shirt near the neck also has a special 50th anniversary commemoration of the Vicente Calderón, which Atleti will leave behind in less than a year. The leaked away shirt has the same graphic, but in gold rather than in red.

The shirts are apparently on sale in certain boutiques and the hope is the club will unveil officially the new kits in the next week. It's been long enough!
