And so it begins. Well, it has become a year-round venture in an effort to generate copy as we speculate about footballer's future but the summer is when things really heat up.
The problem with this summer is that many of the transfers won't be wrapped up until after the Euros and Copa America but we can still speculate over them.
Players (and one manager) dealt with in this edition of Frivolous or For Real.
- Edinson Cavani
- Yannick Carrasco
- Diego Simeone
Edinson Cavani - happy with Atletico Madrid interest
This one has been growing legs since Cavani admitted that Diego Godin told him he would like life at Atletico. Simeone does need a striker and has failed in his last two big signings in that positions - Mandzukic and Martinez.
Cavani has had a pretty weird time at PSG and he might wait to see what role he is offered upon the departure of Zlatan, a move to Atletico might suit him. He is what some might consider a 'defensive forward' and can put pressure from the front while also accommodating for the likes of Griezmann and Carrasco.
What we say: For real
Yannick Carrasco - Arsenal ready to make summer bid for the Belgian
You can always brace yourself for these transfer rumours so soon after an excellent performance in a big game. Carrasco was excellent in the Champions League final and could play a big part for Belgium at the Euros in France. He is very good and very fast but you can expect Arsenal to focus their attention on buying a striker and a central defender before acquiring a player like Carrasco.

Diego Simeone - PSG holding talks with the Argentine
We actually covered this one so read it here and don't make me regurgitate what Jeremy Beren has already said.
