WATCH: Antoine Griezmann sinks Albania with late goal

The Atleti forward's 90th minute header sends France through the last 16

After a so-so outing against Romania last week, France manager Didier Deschamps elected to bench Antoine Griezmann ahead of his side's clash with EURO 2016 debutants Albania. Without the Atlético Madrid talisman on the pitch, France failed to get rolling until around the hour mark and none of its first 19 shot attempts required a save from Etrit Berisha.

The situation was dire. But in the 90th minute, with the game still goalless and a media firestorm mere moments from starting, Griezmann saved a nation's blushes.

Grizi's eighth goal for his national team (created by a great Adil Rami cross, it must be said) serves as his biggest yet and stood as the winner against a stingy Albania. Dimitri Payet scored another fantastic goal at the end of injury time to put the icing on the proverbial cake and France secured progression to the Round of 16 at the Euros.

We're good now, Deschamps.
