Atletico have four representatives from three different countries playing in France this summer

After such a cruel way to finish the season, we now look into June and half of July filled with football - both of the South American variety and the European. The Euros get underway on the 10th of June with France taking on Romania and it's pretty much all action until a month later when the final takes places on the 10th of July.

Atletico had a gruelling season and are fresh of the most trying of Champions League finals, physically and mentally.

Juanfran

Will he start? Yes. He is the first choice right back and was even before Dani Carvajal limped off during the second half of the Champions League final. Hector Bellerin has been a late inclusion in the squad and don't expect to see too much of the Arsenal star unless Juanfran is still reeling from a busy season in which he clocked up over 4,000 minutes for Atletico.

When do they play?

  • 13th June @ 2.00pm vs. Czech Republic
  • 17th June @ 8.00pm vs. Turkey
  • 21st June @ 8.00pm vs. Croatia

Koke

Will he start? No, he will most likely not. Spain's strongest area of the field is their midfield and Vicente del Bosque plays a 4-3-3. Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Cesc Fabregas will most likely play but there has been talk that he will deploy a double-pivot in Bruno Soriano and Busquets in order to free up Iniesta.

Yannick Carrasco

Will he start? Much like Griezmann in France and Koke in Spain, Carrasco is fighting for his spot against some of the most precocious talents in the world. Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard being the two main culprits. Carrasco does bring something to Belgium's squad, however, that they might be lacking in and that is unbridled speed. His showing in the Champions League final will give Marc Wilmots plenty to think about but ultimately, Hazard and de Bruyne will start on either side of Lukaku.

Antoine Griezmann

Will he start? Absolutely. France's squad is packed with unlimited potential from Paul Pogba and Kingsley Coman to Antoine Griezmann and Anthony Martial. Didier Deschamps' weakest position on the field is probably striker and he will need two wide forwards who are able to pick up the slack. The belief is that Griezmann and Dmitri Payet will start but it does have to be said that there is enough strength and depth there to ensure that the same team that starts the tournament is not the same one that will finish.
