Atletico Madrid's sporting director, Jose Luis Caminero, reportedly met with the agent of Cédric Bakambu in Madrid recently to discuss the possibility of a move to the Vicente Calderon for his client. The club are said to be willing to offer €15 million for the striker's services.
The Congolese striker has lit up La Liga and particularly the Europa League scoring 22 goals in 45 games this year in all competitions with nine of those goals coming in 11 appearances in Europe.
The 25-year-old primarily plays as a number nine but can drift wide and would be an excellent addition to an Atletico side who have, at times, struggled to score goals this season.

Atletico signed the man who Bakambu replaced at Villarreal in Luciano Vietto but the Argentine has failed to adapt to life under Simeone. He has not appeared in six games and has only scored three times in 27 appearances since arriving in the summer.
Jackson Martinez was shipped out in January for underperforming but it could have as easily been Vietto. The only thing keeping Vietto at the Calderon, at that time, were his age, limited appearances and his relationship with Diego Simeone.
