Atletico Feminas took all three points from their fixture against Oiartzun with the goals coming all in the second 45 minutes from Priscila Borja Moren, an own goal and Miriam Rodriguez. This was a vital win to keep their hopes of securing a European berth alive.
The rojiblancas struggled to break the duck as the Basque side was very organised at the back, leaving no space for Atleti's offensive line to harm them. It was a deja vu of the rojiblancas' loss against Real Sociedad, where the latter parked the bus and then forged ahead unexpectedly. However, Atleti were aware of the importance of taking maximum points from this encounter to keep Barcelona within reach. Having no chance of scoring from offensive movements, Atleti threatened their opponents from set pieces without ever capitalizing.
In the second half, coach Angel Villacampa made several changes and his team looked more energized and they started to conquer metres on the field slowly. After a couple of missed chances, Atleti forged ahead on the 63rd minute, when Priscila Borja Moreno rifled a shot from outside the box which left the goalkeeper no chance to parry it. Having broken the deadlock, the match became an easier one for Atleti and a few minutes later, the ladies doubled the score when Esti netted the ball into her own net. The rojiblancas wrapped up the victory with a late goal from Miriam Rodriguez.
Atleti's next match is on Sunday, when they will be called upon to put up an important display to have the better over Valencia.
Otra final más solventada. Buena segunda parte de las nuestras y los puntos se quedan en casa. #AúpaFéminas pic.twitter.com/lIjblFHQ3X
