Atletico Madrid's official twitter account have confirmed that Diego Godin has suffered a hamstring injury having been placed by Lucas Hernandez in the 11th minutes against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.

Atletico play Bayern Munich at the Vicente Calderon in just seven days time on the 27th of April with the return leg in Germany on the 3rd of May and Godin is now a doubt to play in either game.

Typically, any kind of hamstring injury means at least three weeks on the sideline but the Uruguayan walked off under his own strength and did not immediately seek medical attention, instead opting to sit on the bench.

Godin missed the 2-1 loss at Sporting Gijon along with the 5-1 win over Real Betis in recent weeks and may have been rushed back in order to be in the middle of Atletico's defense for some of the most important games of the season.

He was joined by Stefan Savic in central defense for the trip to San Mames as Jose Gimenez continues to recover from a hamstring injury sustained against Sporting Gijon.

We await an update and more information will surely become available once the club return to Madrid and are given the chance to assess Godin.
