Atletico Madrid will play Barcelona in the Champions League quarter finals. The two teams, sitting first and second in La Liga, will face off in a repeat of the 2013-14 quart-final, which Atletico won 2-1 over two legs following a tense and cagey 180 minutes of football.
Barcelona are currently in a fine vein of form having won their 10th game in a row in the Champions League at the Nou Camp against Arsenal on Wednesday night and are unbeaten in 38 games across all competitions. The games will be played on the 5th and 13th of April and the first tie will be in the Camp Nou before Barcelona travel south to Madrid to face their rivals at the Vicente Calderon.
Diego Simeone's side will be buoyed by the fact that they lost narrowly to the Catalan side despite being reduced to 9-men in La Liga in January and might have felt like they deserved a draw from the fixture.
It is one of the draws most intriguing match-ups with Barcelona's free-flowing attack versus Atletico's stingy defense. Atletico have conceded just three goals in the Champions League this year with Jan Oblak proving himself to be one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe.
